Involving Community Þ Contact various community groups and ask if they would like to assist in your celebration. Inform them of your timelines and keep them posted as plans develop. Good communication is essential. Þ Service groups may be involved by donating gifts for draws or assisting in printing and publicizing the events to be held during the week. Þ Have churches publicize your T/SAW events in their Sunday bulletin. Þ Ask local merchants to support Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week by displaying a T/SAW poster or putting a message of appreciation to teachers/staff on their billboard. Þ Solicit your local businesses for donated gifts, such as baked goods (for your tea) or flowers that you can give to the teachers/staff and prizes for a raffle.
